Collins et al. v. City of Los Angeles
Certified a plaintiff’s class action totaling more than 2000 members and litigated the case up through judgement and appeal recovering $2,000,000 in restitution, debt relief and attorney’s fees.

Ramon et al v. County of Santa Clara
Certified a plaintiff’s class action totaling more than 1400 members and litigated the case up through judgement and appeal recovering $500,000 in restitution, debt relief and attorney’s fees.

​Cirtek Electronics v. Telefunken Semiconductors
Represented plaintiff manufacturing company in suit for breach of contract and damage claims totaling $470,000; successfully negotiated a confidential settlement.

Professional Work Experience

  • Act as general counsel and provide a wide variety of advice and legal services to individual and business clients. 
  • Litigate business disputes; hire and oversee outside counsel as needed to assist clients to resolve specialized legal matters; audit outside counsel’s billing statements on behalf of clients.
  • Significant experience with general litigation, government entity litigation, law and motion practice, discovery, summary judgment motions and class action procedure; certified and litigated to settlement or judgment more than 25 class actions. 
  • Represent clients in the United States Patent and Trademark Office to register, maintain and defend trademarks. 
  • Represent and advise clients in tax matters including state and IRS audit defense, state payroll tax, sales tax, income tax and workers compensation.

  • Analyze and provide client advice on exposure to IRC section 956, Subpart F income and maximization of foreign tax credits. 
  • Assist in the structuring and planning of international acquisitions/reorganizations including accurately tracking and updating E&P calculations and tax pools.
